When was the last time you had your feet measured?

Did you know that most people have one foot longer than the other? Most individual’s second or third toe is longer than their big toe. Do you know what foot type you have? Do you have a high arched foot, a flat foot, or a normal arch? Why is all this important? It helps the salesperson when fitting your shoe. At the AthElite, one of our shoe specialists will size your feet from heel to the arch and from heel to the toe (longest toe). This also helps us determine your width. Next, we check the fit of the shoe. The length should have about ¼ of an inch of space, which is equal to the width of your thumbnail. Then we check the width of the shoe at the widest part of the foot (this is usually at the ball of your feet). Finally, we make sure your heels do not slip out of the shoe.
