STRONG Fitness Magazine Feature

Christmas came a little early for me when I received the most recent issue of Strong Fitness Magazine in our mailbox. Strong Fitness Magazine is packed full of useful information on how to not only look strong but on how to BE STRONG. Available in hard copy and digital here:...

TheAthElite on American Ninja Warrior

Steve and Steph weren’t expecting the call from the American Ninja Warrior producers since they’ve been filming for weeks now, but they got it and so they are training as much as they can before the May 23rd filming in Denver. For those of you who know them, you also know they are pretty muscular people by nature. Muscle is awesome, but it is also HEAVY, which is not an advantage when trying to climb, jump, and bounce your way across a ninja course. Maybe NBC thought they would be good ninjas because they were on Season 1 of NBC’s Spartan Ultimate Team Challenge as the Charleston Warriors? Maybe they loved the backstory of Stephen’s military career? Maybe they were intrigued by Stephanie’s crazy career path? Or maybe they loved the work Steve and Steph have been doing as TheAthElite and OCR Radio in the obstacle course racing world? Whatever the reason, this is a once in a lifetime chance, and they will train their hardest for whatever that course may bring. If you are in Denver, CO on May 23rd and would like to attend as an audience member, email us at info@theathelite.com and we will get you added to the list of audience members....

NBC Spartan Ultimate Team Challenge PREVIEW and Airing Date!

CLICK TO WATCH! We have an airing date! June 13th 10/9 Central will be the airing date for NBC’s Spartan Ultimate Team Challenge! If you live here in Charleston, or are going to be visiting, we invite you to watch it with us! Details on the location coming soon. We couldn’t have asked for a team with more heart. Watch for us, Team Charleston Warriors. Our awesome ELITE athlete, Orla Walsh, proved to be not only an amazing athlete, but an amazing leader of our Charleston Warriors team. At ages 37 (me), 38 (Stephen), 39 (Elea), and 44 (Adam), we took advantage of our years of experience on that course. We can’t wait to see how the final editing turns out! I wish you all could have been there in person. The competition was fierce and close, and the tears streaming down the faces of the people in the audience are real. I’m tearing up right now as I type this and think back to all the heart that was poured into those days. NBC did a wonderful job in casting people who live real lives, face real struggles, and kick butt when they can fit it into their really busy schedules. These modern day warriors are going to inspire you and make you feel emotions you probably haven’t felt in years. If you aren’t familiar with the Spartan Race or American Ninja Warrior yet, click the links to see what I’m talking about. Charleston Oblique Magazine Feature on TAE’s Coach, Steve Siraco

Check out TheAthElite’s OCR coach, Steve Siraco, in this issue of Charleston Oblique Magazine! Coach Siraco has spent the past 13 years serving in the U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) and he shared his story of the role fitness plays in his day to day job. While he isn’t currently chasing down drug smugglers or Somali pirates, he is making a positive impact on the USCG’s law enforcement training community.         When you think of the Coast Guard, you most likely envision a boarding team conducting a safety inspection or maybe rescuing a stranded fisher- man at sea. What many don’t know is the Coast Guard has been directly involved in every major conflict in our nation’s history since 1790. In addition to supporting war efforts, the Coast Guard is the lead federal agency for maritime drug interdiction and also is responsible for protecting 361 ports and 95,000 miles of coastline – not bad for a service that is smaller than the New York City police department! Can you imagine how fitness plays a role in the ability of U.S. Coast Guardsmen (USCG) to perform their duties? Did you know the USCG trains its members for some of these missions right here in Charleston? We were able to sit down with Chief Maritime Enforcement Specialist Stephen Siraco and ask him to share what fitness means to him both personally and professionally. We also asked him to give us some insight into what it really takes to take down drug runners and pirates in places like the Caribbean and Somalia. Click here to read the full article at...

TheAthElite on NBC!

Watch for us on NBC this spring!  This has been pretty much THE hardest secret to keep… Our team was selected to be on NBC’s new Spartan Ultimate Team Challenge TV Series several weeks ago, but we couldn’t announce it until we were heading out to Atlanta to compete. We just wrapped up the filming for Season 1 where we competed against the best of the best not only in Spartan Races, but also against some of the top American Ninja Warrior Teams! If you’ve been following me much at all, you know I’m not one for TV much less anything that resembles reality TV, so when I say this show is real deal you know I’m serious. Watch for us, Team Charleston Warriors. At ages 36 (me), 38 (Stephen), 39 (Elea), and 44 (Adam), we represented Charleston well. We may need longer to warm up, but we’ve still got it. Sooooo much more coming from us 4 in the next few months! We can’t wait to see how the final editing turns out!   I wish you all could have been there in person. The competition was fierce and close; and the excitement, fear, and hope on the faces of the people in the audience is real. NBC did a great job in casting people who live real lives, face real struggles, and kick butt when they can fit it into their really busy schedules. These modern day warriors are going to inspire you and make you feel emotions you probably haven’t felt in years.
