If you have ever raced in the dark, you know how important a high-quality headlamp is to the success of your race. It could be the difference between winning or not winning, or it could be the difference between finishing and not finishing. We have been asked for recommendations for headlamps before, but until now, we hadn’t found one that was “the best” one. We were introduced to the Wisdom Miner’s Cap Lamp (yes, miner as in works underground in complete darkness), and wanted to talk about why we think it is the best headlamp for a Hurricane Heat, Agoge, World’s Toughest Mudder, Ultra Beast, hiking, and any other ultra-endurance event where you will need to have a light just so you can continue the race. If you have ever shopped for a headlamp, you may have noticed this measurement on the packaging. Lumens are a measure of power. It is the total quality of light the lamp emits in all directions. The Wisdom Miner’s Cap Lamp has three levels of brightness. These levels are 50Lm for the low setting, 265Lm for the medium setting, and 533Lm for the high setting.
